Mrs Edith Olufunmilayo Garrick - LLM, FCIArb (UK) Managing Partner

Mrs Garrick is the managing partner of the firm and possesses a multi disciplinary background which cuts across litigation, legal advisory and corporate banking. She started her career over 30 years ago as legal counsel with the Federal Ministry of Justice where she developed invaluable litigation and advocacy skills.

She later went on to become the first Legal Affairs Manager of the Lagos State Water Corporation where she was charged with acting in a legal advisory capacity with respect to all legal issues relating to the Corporation.

She was then appointed the first Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Ibile Holdings Limited, the investment company of Lagos State, where she was responsible for the supervision of all the company’s legal transactions and also dealt with the various challenges that came with the day to day running of the company.

She later served as a director of the company before subsequently joining Afribank Nigeria Plc (now Mainstreet Bank Limited) as Corporate Counsel where she advised the bank on various legal issues relating to dispute resolution, corporate and financial law.

Mrs Garrick is an astute arbitrator and mediator and has been involved in several private arbitration proceedings as well as mediations at the Lagos Multidoor Courthouse. She holds an LLM from the University of Lagos and is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK.
